We Believe

The foundational beliefs of Greater Praise Temple, rooted in the Word of God.

1

The Authority of Scripture

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God, written by holy men of old as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

2 Peter 1:20–21

2

One God

We believe in one God who is infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes, and purposes—omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent.

Isaiah 44:6, Deuteronomy 6:4, 1 John 5:20, Revelation 1:8

3

The Triune Revelation

We believe He was revealed to us as Father in creation, as Son in redemption, and as the Holy Spirit in His grace that never leaves those who trust Him.

1 Corinthians 8:6, Ephesians 4:6, 2 Corinthians 5:19, Joel 2:28

4

The Fullness of Christ

We believe that in Jesus dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, for it pleased the Father that in Him should all the fullness dwell.

Colossians 1:19, 2:9

5

The Virgin Birth

We believe in the virgin birth. Jesus was born both human and divine; He was God manifested in the flesh.

Matthew 1:23, 1 Timothy 3:16

6

Death, Burial, and Resurrection

We believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. We believe that He ascended on high and has sent His Spirit, the Holy Ghost, which was poured out at Jerusalem over 1,900 years ago, and it is this same Spirit that is filling the hearts of those who diligently seek Him today.

Acts 2:14

7

Baptism in Water and Spirit

We believe in baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and in the baptism of the Holy Ghost, speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. This constitutes the new birth.

Acts 2:4

8

Holy Living

We believe in a holy, sanctified life.

Hebrews 12:14, 1 Peter 1:15–16

9

Divine Healing and Ordinances

We believe in divine healing, communion, and foot washing.

James 5:14–15

10

The Rapture

We also believe in the glorious catching away—the Rapture—of the saints when Jesus returns in the cloud, in glory, to take His people to heaven.

1 Thessalonians 4:14–17

11

Jesus, the Only Saving Name

We believe that Jesus is the only saving name. And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of Jesus.

Acts 4:12
